Committee Minutes

The Committee on Preparation for Ministry met at the Presbytery Office, Willmar, MN on Thursday, June 5, 2008.

Committee members present:  John Lindholm, Iris Stevens, Karen Houtman

Opening

John opened the meeting with prayer.

Inquirer Interview with Marvin Danderand  (Mankato, MN)

The committee voted to recommend that we enroll Marvin Danderand as an Inquirer under Care of Minnesota Valleys Presbytery.  John Lindholm will function as Marvin’s seminary liaison for the time being.   It was noted that if possible, Marvin would be asked to appear before the Presbytery at its September 13, 2008 meeting.  Since Marvin starts seminary on August 1, that may not be possible but is something for which to strive. John Lindholm offered prayer for Marvin Danderand and his future.

Barbara Whipple  (Donegal Presbytery)

Barbara will be candidating June 15, 2008 for the Fulda/Slayton churches.  CPM likely will attempt an interview with her on Saturday, June 14.

Tony Oltman  Currently a chaplain in a nursing home and is seeking ordination to chaplaincy in that nursing home in Brainerd.  The Rev. Harold Tongen will be asked to serve as a mentor for Tony Oltman.
