Subsequent cluster meeting
when teams get oriented and make plans for their surveys
+
Meeting when the
survey is taken by church members
· After
churches take surveys, churches work primarily on their own with
a coach. Coaches will
need to be present all or most church health team
meetings as they develop their plans.
· Once
plans are finalized and a start date is set, coaches will
need to check in periodically with the church health team
and be a resource for them when needed.
· At
the end of the process the coach will be meeting with the
church health team to help with the evaluation and help them
plan their second survey.
· After
the survey is completed, coaches will assist the church
health team in determining whether or not to recommend a
second round to the session.
· The
executive presbyter will lead the meetings held by clusters,
and will be a resource for the coaches throughout the whole
process.
As you can see – we are
asking coaches to be very involved in the beginning – which
will most likely last several months, and then can step back
until the end when the coach will be a little more involved
again. The main
thrust of the coach’s work is in the beginning.
Coaches will be paid a stipend by
the Congregational Growth and Develoment
committee. This is not paid by the hour nor is it a salaried
position. We
are looking for people who see this as part of their
discipleship, part of their calling to serve God through the
church.
Expenses (mileage at IRS rate, meals, copies, etc.) will be
paid by the church.
Coaches may be ordained
ministers, elders, deacons, or lay people.
There is no guarantee that everyone who attends the
training will be used as a coach – we will attempt to match
the gifts of each particular coach, the needs of the church,
and geographical proximity, in assigning coaches to
churches.
