Congregational Resources Minutes

April 17, 2008

The Congregational Resources Committee met on April 17, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. with chairman, Deb Klaassen, opening the meeting with prayer.

Members present:  Bob Raedeke, Bev Modlin, Rob Bellin, Tim Hunt, Deb Klaassen, Sue Coller

Members absent:  Mark Chamberlain, Pat Rosa, Carrie Colvin-Murphy, Katie VandeBrake, Leah Hauser, Laura Kohler, Karen Fernkinhoff

Devotions and prayer were given by Bev Modlin.

Minutes of the February 21, 2008, meeting and the financial report were approved.

Sue gave us a MASH committee update along with some information about visitations she has made to different churches.  28 churches are sharing pastors out of 65.

Rob Bellin will do the invitation and prayer at the May Presbytery meeting for the Pentecost offering.

Deb will gather more information on the Olive Tree camp in the Hurricane Katrina area in Louisiana and see what time frame is available to go down for a work week.

Camp scholarships issued:  Blue Earth, Milroy, Willmar, Silver Lake, Worthington, Spicer-Harrison with a remaining balance of $1950.00 yet to be issued.Synod scholarships issued:  Dan Smith, Lynn and Amanda Miller

It was decided to send out or give an evangelism sermon and order of worship to each church this fall in an effort to promote evangelism in our churches.  Bob will take the responsibility to do this.

Tim Hunt, Rob Bellin and Bev Modlin will each find a church with a mission emphasis to give a short presentation at the December 2nd Presbytery meeting.

Bob will give a short presentation at the Presbytery meeting in May concerning a stewardship workshop to see if there is any interest amongst the churches in attending a workshop in their area.

Next meeting is August 21, 2008.
