-Minutes of meeting held on 8/23/05 were read and accepted
-2005 & 2006 proposed budget was reviewed and approved
-Election of new chairperson was tabled till next meeting, as the committee felt there were not enough members present to make that decision.
-One camp thank you note was received and read.
Christian Education:
-The curriculum "Bible Quest" (an ecumenical resource) will not be published after 2008.
-Jackie Moore applied for a grant to help fund cost of workshop speaker, but was unsuccessful.
-CE workshop will be held Saturday, November 12, 9-3:00 P.M. @ Presbytery office. 2 participants are registered to come so far, with more expected. It was decided to ask someone from the Presbytery office staff to send an e-mail to help generate interest. The workshop will be held regardless of the number of participants, as the speaker's travel arrangements have been made and paid for. Karen Ferkinhoff will be providing round trip transportation to and from the airport and lodging for our presenter, Martha Miller. Lunch for participants will be ordered. Arrangements for Martha's "stuff" to be sent via mail will be made.
-APCE will be held in St. Louis, MO on February 1-4, 2006. Karen has applied for funds to attend APCE, her request was approved. The funds will come out of committee expense, as would any other committee members that applied for and are approved to receive funds. PIFLW member's applications will be paid in full out of committee expense first. If the number of applications should exceed the dollar amount available, then money would be used from the 2110 fund. Any funds requested for applicants that do not belong to PIFLW would be taken from the leadership fund. The cap for those funds was set at $2,000.00. Those considering attending should apply for funds ASAP, as there is a pending deadline.
Mission:
-Special offerings: Christmas Joy offering will be taken on December 3 at the Presbytery meeting in Redwood Falls. A representative from our committee will receive the offering. Deb K. will submit an article to Valley Bridge re: the offering and it's intended use.
Evangelism: It was determined that 5 churches of 68 used the materials provided to them for Evangelism Sunday.
-Approved to authorize Dan Billings to disburse $2,000.00 to the Sudanese at his discretion.
Misc.
