November 6, 2007

Members Present: Karen Ferkinhoff; Judy Kovacs; Deb Klaassen; Patricia Rosa; Rev. Robert Raedeke; Rev. Bev Modlin; Rev. Robert Bellin; Rev. Mark Chamberlain and Executive Presbyter, Rev. Sue Coller.

Members Absent:  Tim Hunt; Carrie Colvin-Murphy; Laura Kohler and Dan Smith, Jr.

Deb Klaassen opened the meeting with prayer and devotions were received from Judy Kovacs.

Minutes of the August meeting were accepted.

Budget was reviewed and action was taken to reduce our monies by $4000.00. Reducing the Christian Education $2000.00 and the committee expenses $2000.00. The Mission and Stewardship funds will remain the same. This give the committee a budget of $10,000.00 for 2008. $3000.00 for the mission trip to Louisiana was granted. All "L" accounts with remaining balances will be kept except the Pentecost Offering. We are requesting information of a worthy children's cause to place the money. This is an item for our next meeting.

Correspondence: Resignation from Dan Smith granted. Thank you from Penny Johnson for Evangelism material and Peter Mann for Penecost funds for Clearwater Forest Camp.

Requests for APCE Scholarships from Karen Ferkinhoff-$500; Gene and Judy Kovacs-$1000; Rev. Christina Berry-$1000. All granted.

Chairman, Deb Klaassen reported on meetings, Committee on Ministry, Congregational, Growth and Development and Sue Coller. Next meeting is December 11, 2007 - Karen Ferkinhoff and Rev. Mark Chamberlain will attend.

New website was discussed and we all thought it looked very nice.

Louisiana Mission Trip has 37 people signed up. Orientation will be December 8, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Willmar Office. Transporation is still being checked. All the clusters are being notified of possible vans or cars to be used for the trip. Need information call Karen at the office.

Deb Klaassen will get Christmas Joy Offering information into the presbytery packet. Rev. Robert Bellin will do the invitation, prayer for offering and meal at the November Presbytery meeting in Willmar on November 27, 2007.

No committee reports on Christian Education, Evangelism, Stewardship or Mission. We are asked to do mission emphasis for 2008 November Presbytery meeting at Redwood Falls. Rev. Mark Chamberlain will call Karen Woehler and ask her to give a 15 minute presentation.  We are responsible to get submissions for the 2009 Mission Yearbook and Children's Yearbook. We are asking Christ United Presbyterian Church of Marshall to write articles of their Ester's Kitchen and Compassion Campout by the youth. Judy Kovacs will help with this
