1. Opening Devotions; Dueteronomy 5 version of 10 commandments, a community of well being. When we look out for one another we do Gods will. I Cor 11 and the way the Corinthians celebrate the Lords supper. Pauls instruction to understand the body in its world wide dimension. Prayer

2. Voted: Approval of 05-02-08 minutes. Corrections noted. Karlas e mailed comments to be attached to the Teams documents but not to the minutes available on the web page.

3. Jim shared comments from Karla Koll wanting procedures in which the people and leadership of Occidente initiate and develop of shared projects. Jim requested that Karen Woehler write out the history of how our involvement has developed indicating attention to Occidente wishes and needs. She agreed with the help of God and others memories.

Gary Request: That the evangelical passion of the Guatemalan Presbyterians be shared with us.

4. Financial Report - Anticipated expense for airline tickets:

1) $900 per air ticket likely to bring 4 delegates for September visit which the IPMAT will pay from budgeted items.

2) $900 per air ticket for each person on the water project. IPMAT is prepared to help with this cost if necessary.

3) $904 with Visas for the four Occidente delegates arriving in September 08

5. Old Business

Preparations for Occidente Presbytery Delegation to come to MVP in September 6-15, 2008

                        Likely participants 1) Betty de Sanches 2) Miguel Alexander Rios Gallardo 3) Ilsi Johanna Cifuentes Calderon 4) Rev. Rogelio Orellana Ajqui.

Edith will write a note to Oziel saying it is not appropriate to send him to Living Waters until Occidente decides whether to install more than the original 5 water filter sites; that Oziel should not come with the Occidente delegation and is cordially invited to come on his own for a visit to Ediths to which the Team will be invited.

voted: $63.94 cost of sending Letters of Invitation via DHL Approved.

                       

Further instructions from David Wiseman and/or others. Laura Berga coaches Rubina (Bettys daughter) in processing VISA applications. Wiseman requests that we pay Laura for her services $30 per VISA (about 1 hrs work). Voted approval of Wiseman request.

                       

Itinerary of Delegation starting September 6 (Saturday) thru September 15 (Mon.). Presbytery Sat, 9/13 at Browns valley. Bill Y. write an article for June 13 Valley Bridge.          Need response by August 1.        Nancy Sutton (Osakis) is eager and willing to translate. She would take them to class with her at Belgrade.

Occidente Delegates talk to MVP, Sept 13: Tell us of your passion for Jesus Christ, your personal faith story, how that has influenced your Occidente experience and how your faith has been influenced by experience in Occidente .

Orientation Resources for partnership Karens information from Karla. PRECARIOUS PEACE is excellent preparation for continuing orientation .

                       

7. Next Water Project- visit to site at the November Net work meeting. Possible schedule :

A) travel 10/25 ;

B) Occidente Presbytery meeting 10/28-29;

C) Water Project installation and / or scouting out new site or installation - site inspection of sites 1 & 2 may be needed 10/30-11/3 ;

D) Guatemala Network meeting 11/4-6;

E) Fly back 11/7. AUGUST 1 deadline on participant decision .

PROBABLE PARTICIPANTS: Gary Woehler, LeRoy Ennenga, Jim Krapf (for negotiations) Heidi Stauffenecker (installation only) Jan Prehn (willing, but wants new people ).

PERMIT ISSUE. Letter to Oziel... Need water use permit authorized by local authority. We have been criticized for not obtaining this permit. It is expected that you will obtain water use permits from the communities in which installations are to be installed. We want to have these permits in our office before we leave. We plan to come for the October Occident Presbytery meeting, the Network meeting and want to install the water filters if the permits available .

8. Letter relative to absconded from Jim K. to Moderator and Clerk of Occident Presbytery

Dear Officers of Occidente Presbytery ,

We cherish our partnership with you. We look forward to growing in friendships and service .

So that we can continue to solicit financial support for projects, we urge you to ask your Synod officials that they pay the missing funds listed below. We are encouraged by the document signed between Stanley deVoog and Ivan Paz committing the Synod to pay the money to the recipients listed below.

January 31, 2006 (31 de enero de 2006)

$235.29 Funds sent by the Presbytery of Minnesota Valleys for the Presbytery of

            Occidente and are designated in the following way:                        

$125.00 for assistance to those affected by the hurricane and the work of emergency committee in Guatemala.

$100.00 for scholarships primary school administered by the Presbyterial in Occidente. These funds were given by the children of the Sunday school of the church in Foley.

$ 10.29 for the cost of copies made in the office of the Presbytery of Occidente in July of last year for the pure wter Project.

$727.78 Funds sent by the Presbytery of Minnesota Valleys for the Presbytery of Occidente in response to the damages caused by Hurricane Stan in the regin of the Presbytery of Occidente.

May 18, 2006 (18 de mayo de 2006)

$1,000.00 Funds sent by the Presbytery of Minnesota Valleys for projects of the Presbytery of Occidente.

As you can see, the total sent from the Presbytery of Minnesota Valleys was $1963.07.

When your delegation visits us in September, we want to hear what you have done to get this money from the Synod. Please provide them with any documents that show your efforts and the results.

10. New Business

            A. Educational scholarships requested from Occidente Presbyterial (supported by local MVP PW circles) Voted That IMPAT encourage Women of MV Presbyterian Women to support the Scholarship Program of Occidente Presbytery .

           

            B. Information Aracely Itzep de Sontay is pastor elect of the Lily of the Valleys Presbyterian Church in Calaguache. Requesting Virginia Molitor to make a gift stole .

           

            C. PREGOV Kristi Van Nostran is Partnership Facilitator

           

            D. LeRoy E. will contact Rallah Madison with pictures to be shown at General Assembly. this year as a lead in to G.A. in Mpls. in 2010
