The Stated meeting of the
Presbytery of Minnesota Valleys was called to order with prayer at
10:00 a.m. by
moderator, the Rev. Dawn Carder.
We sang Come and Fill Our Hearts,
were led in the
Call to Worship by Scott Robinson, Winnebago.
We sang Come
and Find the Quiet Center.
Pat Kunze from Worthington led us in
an Affirmation
of Gods Freeing Love.
We sang
Alleluia then shared the peace of
Christ.
The Rev.Michael Roys welcomed the
Presbytery on behalf of the First Presbyterian Church
of Winnebago,
Minnesota.
A
quorum was established. First time commissioners were
introduced.

Presbytery
May 3, 2008
1.
The 2007 official minutes of the
Minnesota Valleys Presbytery were submitted to the Synod of Lakes and Prairies
for review in
March, 2008. There were approved without exception.
2.
The number of ministers of
Word and
Sacrament and elder representation in the Minnesota
Valleys Presbytery is in balance as of January 1,
2008 and no
adjustments are needed at this
time. The congregations are entitled 67
elder commissioners to the Presbytery. We have 65
congregations with two congregations with
more than
500 members
(Mankato and St. Cloud).
There are 8
elder members of Council, 11 Commissioned Lay Pastors,
two committee chairs
who are elders and the Presbyterian Women moderator who is an elder.
We have 85
ministers of
the Word and Sacrament on our rolls and 73 reside
within the Presbytery
bounds.
3.
All the 2007 annual reports
have been
transmitted to
the General Assembly. These congregations did not submit
any statistics: Brainerd, South Long Lake,
Browns Valley,
Holland, Lake Crystal,
Milroy, Russell
and Tracy. At their meeting on March 11, 2008,
Council took action to
base the 2009
per capita on the statistics from 2006.
She also stated that the
Session Records
Committee is
working on setting the dates for the annual session record reviews; letters
will be sent soon.
